The Shakespeare in Performance Project (SPP)

works upon the premise that the best way to understand Shakespeare's plays is to

PERFORM THEM!

Cast

SPP offer 2 levels of workshop that are suitable for students within the bi-lingual learning scheme. Both of these offer the students the experience of performing before an audience and interaction with professional, native English actors.

The workshops are a day long. Three professional English actors will come to your college and run one workshop in the morning and another in the afternoon. Each workshop is 2 hours long and can take a maximum of 30 students. At the end of the day, both groups of students come together to perform one of the following shows;

'DISCOVERING SHAKESPEARE' (Years 1&2)

A fun, interactive show about Shakespeare's theatre and greatest works.

or

'SHAKESPEARE IN PERFORMANCE' (Years 3-5)

A performance by the students of one of the following plays, using the original English dialogue.

Hamlet

Macbeth

Romeo & Juliet

Twelfth Night

A Midsummer Night's Dream

*NEW* JULIUS CAESAR *NEW*

The final performance can be held

at the end of the school day (1500hrs)

or in the evening (1900hrs).
